Organic search is the only sustainable way to lower your blended CAC. If you rely purely on Meta or TikTok ads, you are renting your users. The moment you turn off the ad spend, your acquisition drops to zero.
1. The 3-Second Screenshot Rule
Users do not read screenshot copy. They look at the UI to verify it looks modern, and they read the largest three words on the first two screenshots. If those three words do not articulate the primary benefit (e.g., "TRACK MACROS FAST"), they scroll past.
- Mistake: Showing a login screen as screenshot #1.
- Mistake: Using 12pt font for paragraph descriptions on screenshots.
- Fix: Massive, bold typography. One single feature per screenshot. High contrast.
2. Keyword Real Estate
The iOS App Store indexes your App Name (30 chars), Subtitle (30 chars), and Keyword Field (100 chars). The weighting is in that exact order.
The Name Strategy
Do not name your app just "Lumina". Name it "Lumina: Workout & Fasting". You must append your primary high-volume keywords to your brand name.
3. Ratings Velocity
The App Store algorithm cares about velocity of downloads and ratings, not just the total number. You must prompt users for a rating at the exact moment they experience a dopamine hit (e.g., finishing a workout, logging a meal).
Never ask for a rating during onboarding or when they open the app. That guarantees a 1-star review.
4. The Impact on CAC
If your App Store Conversion Rate (CVR) goes from 3% to 6%, your Cost Per Install (CPI) is literally cut in half. Use our CAC Calculator to see the exact math.
